Those subtle differences and literal 'eccentricities' provide the anchors or levers around which change becomes possible: change from people's perspective, that is, rather than necessarily the place itself.

Place Memory: An Overview.
Place Memory is a curious phenomenon that describes the effect that experience in a landscape/house  can have upon that place. Most of us will know this as the atmosphere of a place - good or bad. From a geomantic perspective these ‘atmospheres’ are known as psychic impressions - cases where the environment has simply 'remembered' and 'stored' emotionally charged events that have occurred in that particular place. Events that live on beyond the intiial experience when they are created.
