1. Geological Faults are rock fissures and fractures underneath the Earth's surface that act as release points for psychological and physical pressure from within the Earth
and produce a strain on the atmosphere of the environment. Exposure to this phenomeon tends to act on the unconscious of the individual and limits their capacity to communicate thoughts and feelings. It is common to find a high occurrence of these stresses in homes where there has been an incidence of depression and mental breakdown.
2. Geomagnetic Lines surround the Earth in a manner that closely resembles our circulatory system, and channel energy through the landscape and in our homes. Our bodies ability to fight infection and disease is affected either positively or negatively by these lines. These lines when balanced, can provide us with a unique support base for sustaining our health and well-being.
3. Ley Lines are channels of energy that are created by human thought. When we are strongly connected to a place or a person or an object, there is a strong resonance of ourselves within and around the object of our thoughts, and subsequently these lines of consciousness are created. They can affect us in either a positive or negative manner depending upon the information that is being stored and transported within the channelat is Geomancy?
4. Water Courses are streams and water flows that travel through fractures and fissures beneath the Earth's surface, projecting information into the environment in which we live. The quality of the information depends upon the quality of the water: if the water is polluted, either by heavy metals or organic waste, then the information within the energy field will be one of pollution; otherwise the water may be a tremendous source of life and vitality. The healing quality of the natural springs in the Daylesford/Hepburn Springs area is a ood example of this.
5. Nexus Points (or Schumann Resonance) are concentrations of naturally occurring electrical forces that pulse and flux throughout our atmosphere. These nodal points on the Earth's surface, which are figure eight in shape, harness the characteristics of the well known Alpha, Beta, Theta and Delta frequencies and entrain the electrical impulses in our brain and consequently influence how we feel and react; in either a negative or positive manner.
6. Electromagnetic Fields are energy emissions from household appliances, transformers, meter boxes, powerlines, cellular phones, television stations and microwave dishes, that affect us on both a mental and physical plane.
7. The Hartman and Currie Grids are grids of energy that relate to the geopathic and physical stress of any given environment. Named after their discoverers, these grids are particularly active and disruptive in over-stressed areas. The Hartman Grid is thought to be closely related to the human consciousness, while the Currie Grid is thought to be related to the consciousness of the planet as a whole. These lines are often used as a Geomancers' barometer - when a site is harmonised the presence of these lines will be significantly reduced or disappear altogether.
8. Psychic Impressions and Presences are cases where the environment or house has simply 'remembered' and 'stored' emotionally charged events that have occurred in that particular place. Almost like an emotional residue, these events hang upon the subtle body of the house, creating a negative atmosphere or 'bad feeling' in a particular room or place. Quite often, we are unconsciously influenced by these events, even re-enacting experiences and harbouring the feelings that the house had stored.
The task of the practitioner is to clearly discern these stresses and implement the relevant remedies or limit exposure to the stresses affecting the site. The geomantic process is implemented in order to catalyse a change in the life of the site and its occupants. When the obstacles in the environment have been cleared progress becomes possible and healing is able to take place. In all of this, the role of the practitioner is as witness to the union between person and place; allowing this relationship to take form, to become conscious and most importantly, to breathe.
